What do Shy Blakeman, Academy Award Winning Actor Jeff Bridges And Jimmy Buffet Have In Common?

They are all being featured on a FREE Select-O-Hits compilation CD for Record Store Day on April 17th, 2010!

The compilation will feature Shy Blakeman’s “Save A Little Room” from his brand new release “Long Distance Man” on Winding Road Music. It will also feature Jeff Bridges’ “She Lay Her Whip Down” from his current release “Be Here Soon” on Ramp Records/Mailboat Records. And Jimmy Buffet’s “Big Top” from his newest release “Buffet Hotel” on Mailboat Records.

The original idea for Record Store Day was conceived as a celebration of the unique culture surrounding over 700 independently owned record stores in the USA, and hundreds of similar stores internationally.

This is the one day that all of the independently owned record stores come together with artists to celebrate the art of music. Special vinyl and CD releases and various promotional products are made exclusively for the day and hundreds of artists in the United States and in various countries across the globe make special appearances and performances. Festivities include performances, cook-outs, body painting, meet & greets with artists, parades, djs spinning records and on and on. Metallica officially kicked off Record Store Day at Rasputin Music in San Franscisco on April 19, 2008 and Record Store Day is now celebrated the third Saturday every April.

Select-O-Hits is sending out copies NATION wide but it is a limited edition release so make sure you get to your local independent record store early to get a copy!
